Job Description Summary

DEUTSCH

• Die Position unterstützt einen reibungslosen und rechtskonformen Warenfluss innerhalb Europas, indem sie Aktivitäten im Bereich Zoll- und Außenhandels-Compliance begleitet. Dazu gehören unter anderem die Unterstützung von Import- und Exportprozessen, die Erstellung und Prüfung zollrelevanter Dokumentationen, die Tarifierung von Waren sowie die Einhaltung regulatorischer Anforderungen.

• In enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Produktionsstandorten, den Einkaufs- und Logistikteams, Zollagenten sowie Behörden trägt die Position zu effizienten grenzüberschreitenden Abläufen bei. Darüber hinaus unterstützt sie die Identifikation und Umsetzung von Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten zur Optimierung von Prozessen, zur Stärkung der Compliance sowie zur Reduzierung zoll- und abgabenbezogener Kosten.

Hinweis: Die Position ist zunächst auf einen Zeitraum von 12 Monaten befristet und kann bei Bedarf verlängert werden.

• The position holder will help ensure the smooth and compliant flow of goods across Europe by supporting customs and trade compliance activities, including import/export processes, customs documentation, tariff classification and regulatory requirements.

• Working closely with manufacturing sites, purchasing, logistics teams, customs brokers, and government authorities, they will contribute to efficient cross-border operations while helping identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance compliance and optimize duty-related costs.

• Unterstützung der Import- und Exportaktivitäten in Europa mit dem Ziel, die Einhaltung von EU-weiten sowie nationalen Zoll- und Außenhandelsvorschriften sicherzustellen.
• Prüfung von Zollanmeldungen, Handelsdokumenten und Transaktionsdaten zur Gewährleistung von Richtigkeit, Vollständigkeit und Compliance.
• Unterstützung bei der zolltariflichen Einreihung von Waren, der Zollwertermittlung, Ursprungsbestimmung, der Nutzung von Freihandelsabkommen sowie der Anwendung besonderer Zollverfahren.
• Überwachung von Zollabfertigungen sowie enge Zusammenarbeit mit Zollagenten und externen Dienstleistern zur Klärung von Abweichungen und kontinuierlichen Verbesserung der Datenqualität.
• Analyse zollrelevanter Fragestellungen, Durchführung von Datenauswertungen sowie Unterstützung bei Ursachenanalysen im Zusammenhang mit Compliance-Themen.
• Mitwirkung bei Zollprüfungen, Compliance-Reviews sowie bei der Erstellung von KPIs und Management-Reports.
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit den Bereichen Einkauf, Supply Chain, Logistik, Finanzen, Engineering und Produktion zur Unterstützung zoll- und außenhandelsrelevanter Anforderungen.
• Beratung interner Stakeholder zu zollrechtlichen Auswirkungen von Lieferantenwechseln, Beschaffungsentscheidungen und Initiativen innerhalb der Lieferkette.
• Pflege zollrelevanter Aufzeichnungen, Unterstützung bei der Dokumentation von Prozessen sowie Identifikation von Möglichkeiten zur Prozessverbesserung, Automatisierung und Standardisierung.
• Teilnahme an Business Reviews mit Zollagenten und Außenhandelsdienstleistern, um Compliance, operative Leistungsfähigkeit und Effizienz kontinuierlich weiterzuentwickeln.

ENGLISH

• Support import and export activities across Europe, helping to ensure compliance with EU and local customs regulations
• Review customs declarations, trade documentation and transaction data to maintain accuracy and compliance
• Assist with tariff classification, customs valuation, origin determination, free trade agreements and special customs procedures
• Monitor customs filings and collaborate with customs brokers and service providers to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy
• Investigate customs-related issues, perform data analysis and support root-cause assessments for compliance concerns
• Contribute to customs audits, compliance reviews, KPI reporting and management reporting activities
• Partner with purchasing, supply chain, logistics, finance, engineering and manufacturing teams to support customs and trade compliance requirements
• Provide guidance on customs implications related to supplier changes, sourcing decisions and supply chain initiatives
• Maintain customs records, support process documentation and identify opportunities for process improvements, automation and standardization
• Participate in business reviews with customs brokers and trade service providers to enhance compliance, operational performance and efficiency

Required Skills and Education

DEUTSCH

• Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Bachelorstudium in den Bereichen Supply Chain Management, Internationaler Handel, Betriebswirtschaftslehre, Logistik, Finanzen oder einem vergleichbaren Studiengang.
• Mindestens drei Jahre Berufserfahrung im Bereich Zoll, Außenhandels-Compliance, Import-/Exportabwicklung, internationale Logistik oder in einem vergleichbaren Umfeld, idealerweise in der Automobilindustrie.
• Fundierte Kenntnisse der EU-Zollvorschriften, zollrechtlicher Verfahren sowie des Zollkodex der Union (UZK).
• Erfahrung in den Bereichen Zolltarifierung, Zollwertermittlung, Ursprungsrecht sowie Freihandels- und Präferenzabkommen.
• Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit Zollagenten, Spediteuren sowie externen Dienstleistern im Bereich Zoll- und Außenhandels-Compliance.
• Ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten, Problemlösungskompetenz sowie ein hohes Maß an Organisations- und Kommunikationsstärke, verbunden mit einer sorgfältigen und detailorientierten Arbeitsweise.
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse in Microsoft Excel sowie praktische Erfahrung im Umgang mit ERP-Systemen wie SAP, Oracle, Plex oder vergleichbaren Plattformen.
• Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.

ENGLISH

• Successfully completed Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Administration, Logistics, Finance or a related field
• 3 years experience in customs, trade compliance, import/export operations, international logistics or a related area – ideally gained in the automotive industry
• Solid knowledge of EU customs regulations, customs procedures and the Union Customs Code (UCC)
• Experience with tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin requirements and preferential trade agreements
• Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders and external trade compliance service providers
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Plex, or similar platforms.
• Fluent language knowledge in German and English
