Sizing Die Setter

Job Description Summary

Installs tooling, adapters, pickoffs, and other automation in sizing presses. Sets press timing and ejection rates to meet process specification.

Job Description:

• Follows safe operating procedures
• Maintain 7S standards
• Performs TPM activities as the need arises
• Review and follows quality, process and operator instructions
• Perform quality checks as the need arises and accurately records using Plexus or required method
• Identifies, contains and generates Discrepant Material Report (DMR) for any non-conforming material and forwards to the Material Review Board (MRB)
• Communicates with co-workers from the previous and following shifts to discuss problems and concerns
• Insures operation runs at required production rate.  Notifies Team Leader or equivalent when this does not occur
• Accurately reports production and scrap using Factivity or required method
• Actively participates in continuous improvement activities
• Installs new setup following procedure for different parts
• Starts machine and inspects work
• Sets up feeder equipment
• Dumps parts into hopper using barrel hoist
• Removes, cleans and returns completed tools and adapters to tool crib
• Adjust presses during operation as needed
• Operates sizing equipment as required, .i.e. weekends/lunches/shortage of labor due to call-offs and excessive absenteeism
• Completes other tasks within job classification as assigned
• Assists other employees as advised by the Team Leader and / or Supervisor

Required Skills and Education

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

EXPERIENCE:

• Know what it takes to have a safe workplace.
• TS-16949 Quality Systems Requirements.
• ISO-14001 Environmental Management Systems.
• Control Plans
• Lock-out Tag-out.
• Problem Solving
