Value Stream Manager II
Position Summary
The Value Stream Manager II is responsible for leading and optimizing all manufacturing activities within an assigned value stream, ensuring the achievement of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives. This role oversees a large operational area, managing multiple supervisors and teams of more than 150 employees while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
The position is accountable for production planning, resource management, budget performance, compliance, workforce development, and the successful execution of manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Lead and manage all operations within the assigned value stream to ensure safe, efficient, and productive manufacturing performance.
• Drive achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
• Ensure optimal utilization of labor, equipment, materials, and manufacturing resources.

Production Planning & Execution

• Develop and execute monthly and annual production plans.
• Coordinate resources, capacity planning, and production schedules to meet customer demand and business requirements.
• Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, waste reduction, and cost optimization.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, systems, and procedures.
• Utilize operational metrics, benchmarks, and root cause analysis methodologies to drive sustainable improvements.

Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and support the development of new quality tools, methods, and systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures.
• Identify risks and implement actions to mitigate safety and environmental concerns.
• Drive accountability and proactive behaviors to achieve safety objectives.

People Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production teams.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and engagement.
• Identify talent development opportunities and implement training and succession plans.
• Conduct performance management activities and support employee growth.

Financial & Budget Management

• Manage operational budgets and cost performance within the value stream.
• Monitor expenditures and drive initiatives that improve profitability and resource utilization.
• Ensure achievement of annual business objectives and financial targets.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
• Monitor operational compliance and implement corrective actions when required.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and other functional areas to achieve business objectives.
• Support organizational communication initiatives and facilitate alignment across teams.

Required Skills and Education

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• 6 to 10 years of manufacturing and operations experience.
• Proven experience leading large manufacturing teams and supervising multiple leaders.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of production systems, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence principles.
