• Lead workplace safety, environmental compliance and risk prevention across all manufacturing sites in Europe, driving a proactive safety culture by establishing and enforcing EHS standards, ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding Associates, operations and the environment.• Own emergency preparedness and hazardous materials management, developing and implementing robust prevention, response and recovery plans while ensuring manufacturing processes and site practices meet company policies, industry standards and legal requirements.
Job Description:
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs across European operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory and corporate requirements
- Develop and maintain effective processes for identifying, assessing and mitigating workplace, environmental and transportation-related risks
- Provide strategic oversight of EHS performance across sites through audits, inspections, compliance reviews and corrective action programs
- Drive a proactive safety culture by coaching leaders, delivering training and promoting best practices throughout the organization
- Lead the investigation of incidents, injuries, illnesses and near misses, ensuring root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions are implemented
- Oversee hazardous materials management and environmental compliance activities, including permits, reporting obligations and regulatory interactions
- Monitor emerging EHS technologies, industry trends and regulatory developments, recommending solutions that improve safety and operational performance
- Ensure regional emergency preparedness and crisis management programs, ensuring effective prevention, response, recovery and business continuity planning
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, emergency service providers and other external stakeholders
- Analyze EHS performance metrics and trends, reporting findings to senior leadership and driving initiatives that reduce risk and improve overall safety performance
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety or a related technical field
- At least 5 years of EHS experience within automotive, manufacturing or other industrial environments, including responsibility for multiple sites
- Proven expertise in workplace safety, environmental compliance, risk assessment, incident investigation and corrective action management
- Strong knowledge of EHS management systems, regulatory requirements and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Experience leading emergency preparedness, crisis response, business continuity and hazardous materials management programs
- Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and partner with leaders at plant, regional and senior management levels
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management and stakeholder management skills within a matrix organization
- Fluent English language skills, additional European language knowledge an advantage
