The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing transportation, warehousing, incoming and outgoing goods, inventory management, and internal material movement across multiple facilities. The position provides leadership to logistics teams, ensures compliance with safety and operational standards, manages resources and schedules, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to support business objectives and customer requirements.Job Description:
Role Purpose
Lead and manage the internal transportation, inbound and outbound logistics operations across multiple plants/sites, ensuring the efficient movement of materials and goods while supporting Dispatch, Assembly, and Machining operations. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, safety, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement across logistics functions.
Responsibilities
Logistics & Transportation
Lead internal transportation and logistics operations across multiple sites.
Manage inbound and outbound transportation activities.
Ensure on-time delivery of materials, goods, and supplies.
Optimize vehicle utilization and transportation routes.
Recommend and implement transportation process improvements.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
Manage warehouse and storage operations.
Ensure proper receiving, storage, tracking, and movement of materials.
Oversee inventory accuracy and inventory control activities.
Resolve inventory-related issues and drive process improvements.
Support packaging requirements and outgoing goods processes.
Operations Management
Oversee daily logistics operations and team performance.
Develop work schedules and allocate resources effectively.
Coordinate activities across multiple departments and teams.
Monitor operational KPIs and take corrective actions when required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
Promote a safe working environment.
Identify and address safety risks and unsafe behaviors.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes.
Analyze operational data and performance metrics.
Implement efficiency, cost reduction, and service improvement initiatives.
Drive problem-solving and root-cause analysis activities.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, coach, and develop logistics teams.
Set performance objectives and hold teams accountable.
Communicate business priorities and operational goals.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support production and customer requirements.
Manage relationships with multiple stakeholders across operations and supply chain.
Required Skills and Education
- Experience managing logistics, transportation, warehousing, and inventory operations.
- Knowledge of supply chain and materials planning processes.
- Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control systems and material flow.
- Ability to analyze operational data and drive improvements.
- Knowledge of HSE requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing operations across multiple facilities is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 to 6 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, transportation, supply chain, or materials management.
- Experience planning and managing resources to achieve business objectives.
- Experience in manufacturing or automotive environments preferred.
- Proven people leadership experience.
