Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports production operations by ensuring materials are delivered to the appropriate locations, maintaining accurate inventory records, and operating material handling equipment in compliance with company safety and quality standards.

Job Description:

  • Transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Supply production lines with materials required to meet daily production schedules.
  • Remove finished goods and scrap materials from production areas.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, tuggers, and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Complete inventory transactions using ERP, warehouse management, or barcode scanning systems.
  • Perform material receipt, storage, and staging activities.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
  • Verify material identification, quantities, and locations for accuracy.
  • Maintain orderly and organized inventory storage locations.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Communicate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and operational issues to supervisors.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment or obtain certification upon hire.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanners and inventory systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Preferred

    • Forklift certification.
    • Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
