Job Description Summary

Dauch is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our world-class team. This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a leading company in the automotive industry, where you will have the chance to contribute to the flawless execution of our manufacturing processes. This role is located at our Wooster plant in Wooster, OH.

The ideal candidate implements manufacturing techniques, processes, tooling, and machinery to maximize throughput. Establishes control charting of critical features and processes; monitors results and determines machine and process capabilities and performance reliability. Manages the implementation of new processes, selection of equipment to be purchased, and time estimates. Identifies optimal tooling for machining. Resolves issues with design, manufacturability, or build sequences. Ensures production-part acceptance and manufacturing readiness. Participates in adoption of new technologies and processes to achieve greater efficiency. Consults on and oversees selection and implementation of automation and robotics on the assembly line.

Job Description:


· Provide engineering support on daily quality issues

· Support / maintain all assigned processes

· Analyze production disruptions, technical problems

· Support change-overs as required

· Ensures all engineering procedures are followed, (e.g. temp deviations, ECN’s, etc.)

· Support all PPAP activities as assigned

· Support planned and unplanned maintenance initiatives

· Support, propose, and manage scrap rate reduction initiatives

· Support, propose, and manage efficiency increases (c/o time, cycle time reduction, tool life studies, pre-set and quick change tools, etc.)

· Support, propose, and manage tool improvement trials in conjunction with the design engineers to improve tool wear / life

· Take the lead on machining department related TVM’s

· Know and understand basics of forging to help solve internal issues as they arise

· Support any Production Engineering function when required

· Maintain accuracy of all engineering documents (setup sheets/tool path prints, etc.

· Create and modify CNC programs

· Support sales/quoting activities

· Interface with external vendors to investigate, acquire and implement new/improved work holding, tooling, etc.

· Continuously improve existing processes to minimize interruptions and improve capability and predictability

· Generate cost savings opportunities and complete all associated documentation

· Support quality department with CPAR activities

· Provide training to ME Technicians and shop floor personnel

Required Skills and Education

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent work experience

· High School diploma or GED

Five (5) years’ experience in a machining manufacturing environment, and / or machining process design.

· Ability to work in multifunctional teams

· Ability to plan and prioritize

· Ability to work well with others

· Negative pre-employment drug tests

· Must be self-motivated and detail oriented

· Ability to work in multiple assignments and meet target completion dates consistently
