Finishing Production Supervisor

Job Description Summary

Directly supervises hourly associates and directs resources as required.Oversees the planning, scheduling, setup, and running of production activities.Manages the dispersal and distribution of materials for production. Maintains labor and material requirements to meet the daily production schedule.Oversees the work of production associates and coordinates with leaders of production support staff; communicates expectations and provides direction and training. Monitors work performance and provides feedback.Coordinates maintenance of production equipment. Oversees process control and quality process control.

Job Summary:**

Oversee and manage all aspects of the finishing production process at the El Carmen Manufacturing Facility, ensuring efficient operations, quality output, and adherence to production schedules and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Supervise and train a team of finishing production operators, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
* Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities in the finishing department to meet targets and deadlines.
* Ensure the consistent quality of finished products through regular inspection and adherence to established quality control procedures.
* Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
* Manage raw material and consumable inventory for the finishing department, coordinating with procurement as needed.
* Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality control, logistics) to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution.
* Maintain accurate production records, including output, scrap rates, and labor hours.
* Implement and enforce all company safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety briefings and audits.
* Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste minimization within the finishing operations.
* Conduct performance reviews for team members and provide constructive feedback and development opportunities.

Required Skills and Education

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Manufacturing, Industrial Technology) preferred.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in finishing operations.
* Strong understanding of finishing processes, equipment, and materials relevant to the industry (e.g., painting, coating, assembly, packaging).
* Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in using manufacturing software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
* Knowledge of quality control principles and practices (e.g., lean manufacturing, Six Sigma) is a plus.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, or rotating shifts.
* Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
