Job Description Summary

Dauch is looking for a Value Stream Leader to join our team in Alamance, NC.

The Value Stream Leader manages other team leaders or teams of associates/operators using machinery or equipment to assist with all manufacturing activities of a plant or production process, including production, materials, health and safety, quality control, and other steps along a
value stream.

Job Description:

  • Supervises others working within established operational systems.

  • Develops daily and weekly production plans for value streams to include resource planning and monitoring and reporting on performance against the plan.

  • Explains the local action plan, to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done, and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission, and vision; motivates associates to achieve local business goals.

  • Identifies shortcomings in existing manufacturing processes, systems, and procedures; develops methods and processes to address them.

  • Follows the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well being of self and others in the workplace; instructs the team in safe working methods; identifies instances of risky behaviors within the team and takes appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.

  • Helps management to implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous operational improvements.

  • Develops short- or medium-term work schedules in order to achieve planned commitments. Approves overtime or uses additional resources as needed.

  • Identifies, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Uses the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plans and implements actions to build their capabilities. Provides training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

  • Helps others get the most out of internal communications systems by offering support and advice.

  • Identifies shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Availability and willingness to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as requested.
